Viz Studio

Directed brand and interaction design for an AI creative tool, then partnered on the React implementation.

TL;DR Viz Studio needed a brand that felt creative without looking like every other AI tool — and an interface that could keep up with generative output that changes every session.

Context

The product sat between professional creative software and consumer AI toys. The brand had to signal craft and capability. The UI had to stay out of the way when people were in flow.

Approach

Split focus

Brand — wordmark, color system, and motion language built around contrast and restraint. Acid accents only for primary actions.

Product — canvas-first layout, progressive disclosure for model settings, and keyboard-first navigation for power users.

It finally felt like a tool for people who care about the work — not a demo wrapped in gradients.

Outcome

Public beta launched on schedule. Brand and product shipped as one system — the same tokens in marketing and in the app.
